Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi upgrade to OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich now available to Canadians

Do you have the Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi? If so you’ll be incredibly happy today. Motorola Canada has announced that the upgrade to OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is available today OTA (actual OS version is 4.0.3). This will be a big change from the current 3.2 Honeycomb OS, mainly the UI is cleaner and faster performance.
Check your XOOM for the update, let us know if you have it and how you’re liking it.

That leaves only Samsung and LG for the “last to update” award.

I got it at 10:30 Toronto time 17/05/12, took under 10 mins to complete, feels like a totally different Tablet kinda, sounds, looks and feels different. Also i didn’t choose to root my xoom so this was long overdue.

About damn time! All that “Canadian code” took a while to port into US ICS.

I honestly barely notice a different in look besides the unlock screen. I wish it had screen capture:/

I got tired of waiting too. I wiped it and went to the US stock 3.1 and then up to 4.0.4. Then last week I decided to root and am now using EOS 2.0 custom ROM. Loving it, especially since i can overclock the cpu. have it set to 1.5!! Heck of a lot faster and smoother.

I too got tired of waiting on moto, rooted and have ICS 4.0.4 and love it. No bloatware from moto either. I can even use my thumb drives with an OTG cable. Great!!

Its about time we got the update here in Canada. I was gonna wait for a few more weeks and was going to root it. Luckily this popped up to save me the trouble.
Haven’t checked for the update yet.

Too late. After months of no ICS 4.0 and a certain Canadian update to my Xoom that added a lot of unremovable Motorola bloatware, I rooted and flashed the American GED HC 3.1 and then updated to ICS 4.0.4 from there. It’s been smooth, fast, and ICS UI is pleasant to look at.
